Overview

With more than 110 stores nationwide, Battery World (BW) is Australia’s largest battery retail franchise. Battery World has engaged Elevate since 2020 to raise its national and local profile, and to align internal stakeholders in the brand’s communication strategy. Battery World’s extensive Australian-made range and exceptional customer service offering has cemented its position as a successful and trusted heritage brand in the Australian market.

Throughout our partnership, Elevate has achieved great brand awareness with over 250 pieces of media coverage through national and local PR campaigns and internal collaboration through more than 100 PR consultation sessions with the business’s local franchise network including 100+ franchise partners, content development and presentations at three Battery World National Franchise Conferences.

BW’s PR challenge is twofold; raise brand awareness and trust at a national level and unify its network of 100+ franchise partners in the national strategy.

Elevate’s  brand communication approach included a streamlined PR strategy tailored to the nuances of the Battery World brand and franchise network.

Elevate’s strategy comprised of:

National PR campaigns

National PR campaigns communicating the brand’s mission through creative PR stories.

Agency collaboration

Collaboration with the BW’s inter-agency group—including creative, digital, and media buying agencies—to ensure holistic and integrated communication.

Local franchise based PR activity

Local PR activity centred on active working relationships with local franchise partners. We consistently liaise with franchise partners to encourage and manage local PR activations and identify newsworthy stories.

Media coverage

Developing and pitching media materials to secure media coverage in local print, online, and broadcast media.

The outcome

Our commitment to raising brand awareness through traditional media has significantly increased Battery World’s presence in the market. To date, Elevate’s national and local PR campaigns have achieved over 250 pieces of coverage with an estimated reach of over 80 million people.

Our national campaign has amplified Battery World’s wider marketing strategy, with highlights including leveraging the brand’s 25th Anniversary and sponsorship of Super Cars Championship to include branding, key messaging and calls-to action in every media segment achieved, managing and amplifying BW’s brand ambassadors such as Nick Cummins and TJ Hendy, and achieving 10 pieces of coverage  with a reach of over 15 million for PR campaign “Power your Passion.”

Locally, we have built highly productive working relationships with local franchise partners that allow our agency to produce meaningful local narratives nationwide. Franchise partners are now increasingly engaged with the PR program and proactively reach out to the national team with their unique PR stories and perspectives. It has been a wonderful journey fostering these relationships and growing brand awareness for Australia’s largest battery retailer.
